Argentine wines had a great performance at the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition 2014

The 2014 edition, held on March 29 and 30 in Rochester, New York, gathered 3,756 wines from 20 countries, where Argentina was highly recognized with 5 double gold medals, at the world’s second most important wine contest: “Finger Lakes IWC 2014”, where the only judge from Argentina was eng. Raúl Castellani.

Argentina awarded 36 medals in total, with 33 wines from Mendoza, 1 from San Luis, 1 from Salta and 1 from La Pampa. The most awarded grape variety was Malbec, receiving 4 double gold medals, among 19 awards.

Moreover, 8 gold medals were granted for Argentina: Luigi Bosca Cabernet-Malbec 2011 (Leoncio Arizu SA), Algodón Wine Estates Malbec 2010 (Algodón Wine Estates SRL), Victorio Altieri Gran Reserva Malbec 2011 (Bodega Vinorum SRL-Familia Altieri), Mairena Malbec 2012 (Familia Blanco Wines),

Viñavida Reserva Linea Luxury Bien Nacido 2011 (Bodega Viñavida) and Viñavida Gran Reserva Linea Luxury Business Class 2011 (Bodega Viñavida) awarded double gold medals.

Alambrado Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Alambrado Malbec 2013 and The Forefather Malbec-Shiraz Gran Selección 2012 (La Agrícola SA), and Finca Constantina Malbec 2010 (Sloga SRL).

In addition, Argentina received 17 silver medals for Algodón Wine Estates, Bombal y Alado, Llaver, Mosso, Palo Alto, Zemlia, Estrella de Los Andes, Finca La Larga ( San Luis), Hollen Family, La Agrícola, Leoncio Arizu, and Catena-Álamos.

Finally, this country also reached 6 bronze medals through the follwoing wineries: Viña Las Perdices, Palo Alto, Carinae, Familia Otero Ramos, Tierras Del Ande, and The Wines of Catena-Álamos.
